". . . At our consultation, Deb and Rebecca took in the space, and listened to our cacophony of ideas: Can it be warm, minimal, inviting, cohesive, hip, effortless, nature-y, intentional, creative yet relaxing, have the ability to showcase our art books and music, have touches of our humor, an ode to our dog, and blend my multicultural Middle Eastern and Latin heritages together? Oh, and with notes of Japandi throughout, as we both really love that style. That would be great. Thanks. We watched as their wheels started turning, whispering conspiratorially to each other, pointing in each room that had potential beyond what our peasant, non-designer eyes could see. And lo and behold, they delivered on everything we asked for, and then some.

The process was collaborative at every level. They really listen to their clients, even the long-winded indecisive ones who have trouble letting go of control and are very, very certain they hate the color red, "but sure let's try it just know I will probably hate it." (I don't. In fact, thanks to Lily Spindle, turns out I love it?!) They provided endless insight and guided us at each step, but we never once felt as though we were not the ones making the final calls. It is some sort of wizardry -- or just two women who are so damn good at their job. Maybe a little bit of both.

Now we have a space that feels ours in every single corner. A place we wake up happy in. A deliciously cozy home. They came highly recommended to me from two friends, consider me your friend and let me pass their genius onto you. Just don't call them at the same time as me -- I currently have a "Lily Spindle phase two" list going, because I can't wait to hire them again for the rest of the house.

A lot of history had happened in my Venice house of 40 years. Even though it had had various remodels and add-ons, it had begun to feel stale. I also had a new partner and it was time for some changes.

Having Lily Spindle step in breathed new life into the interior and gave the house a much-needed lift. I was particularly impressed by their intuition and ability to understand my design leanings. They are great problem solvers coming up with designs that can be transforming to a space, whether small or large.

Some years later my partner and I bought a house on Whidbey Island north of Seattle. This was a much bigger project as the house interior was completely remodeled. The house was a faux Victorian design built 30 years ago; we called the project Victoria’s Challenge. I felt right away that the key was to blend old and new with a bit of a mix in terms of design. It felt overwhelming. We engaged Lily Spindle to be part of the process.

The interior transformation of the house was extraordinary. It was also fun! LS selections were fabulous, sometimes unexpected but ultimately just the right choice for what was needed. Having that level of talent and experience to help guide us was invaluable.

When I walk around the house now and my eye lands on a sofa, light fixture or rug it feels incredibly satisfying. We both derive great joy living in the house as a result of the remarkable choices made with LS as our guide.

Our family is made up of two young children, two big mutts, a giant, awful cat, and two medium-sized humans and each one of us did our darndest to squeeze every inch of life out of our previous house during the pandemic. Moving seemed the only solution. Except once we did, our old things looked very out of place in our new home. It deserved more.

On the recommendation of a dear friend, we met with Rebecca and Deb. It would be our first experience with real, professional design talent and I never realized I could have so much fun – my goodness, the laughter! – or be so inspired and have our home turn out so perfectly perfect for us. So much so, that we couldn’t let them go after we accomplished our original interior vision. We asked them to stay on to furnish our major outdoor renovation as well.

In both spaces, they brought a warmth and a beautiful yet approachable style that we love to work in, play in, entertain in, live in. Surprisingly often, I’ll catch myself simply taking in whatever the room is around me and silently giving thanks for all that is Lily Spindle.

“Without Lily Spindle, we would have been lost and frustrated trying to navigate all that was required in renovating our new home. From managing our general contractor (and his crew) to drawing up diagrams that helped us envision the possibilities in each space to sending us beautiful fabric/furniture/rug options to choose from, they really did it all. And they were so great at communicating all of the details that we never felt like we had to chase them for information. The best part about it all was that they made the entire process fun. Believe us when we say that we had some very stressful moments during the renovation, but Rebecca and Deb always managed to ease our minds and make us laugh. We really can’t thank them enough for helping us make our house a home!”

“Lily Spindle is a creative force that with an unmatched eye and genuine love and respect for design, will realize any space to its fullest potential and, in my case, well beyond it.

They spent time on the property.  They were patient.  They were firm with their ideas but open to mine.  Whereas most designer / client experiences are essentially one way - designer pitches, client reacts - working with Lily Spindle was dynamic, creative, and expansive.  It was a conversation, a rapport, and an utterly enjoyable one throughout.

I could not recommend Lily Spindle highly enough.  They are the real deal.”

“When we remodeled our kitchen we were so ecstatic to work with them. Our kitchen has now appeared in several online publications and whenever we throw dinner parties we find all of our guests gravitate towards the kitchen.

Debra and Rebecca are the best. They are kind and patient and collaborative. They have become our friends. We will certainly be lifelong customers of theirs. Go Lily Spindle and never look back. Don't even look anywhere else.”

“We needed help. Enter the fabulous ladies of Lily Spindle.

They took us shopping. They walked the almost-finished house, measured, considered the light, took pictures, laid down paper mockups, took them up and laid them down again. They listened to our ideas, and gently steered us in unanticipated directions. They answered a million emails. They played with our dogs. We started looking forward to their visits, especially when things weren’t going well with other parts of the project, because we knew they’d inject a jolt of humor and good cheer into our frazzled outlook. This is important: They ALWAYS did this, without fail. We started to talk about “that Spindle energy.”

The day after the movers arrived Deb and Rebecca banished us to a hotel for the night, and the next morning we walked into a home that was polished and comfortable, stylish and warm, and so much more beautiful than we could have ever put together on our own. My wife immediately burst into tears of joy.

We’re so glad we hired Lily Spindle to make our house a place that reflected the best possible vision of what our home could be. They were, and are, an absolute joy to have in our lives, and we take great pleasure in their work every single day.”

“I found Lily Spindle initially through Instagram and our shared love of mid-century modern, fun colors and dogs! I reached out when my very sad bedroom needed a much needed facelift and the results were beyond my expectations...what was at first a drab and sullen place just to hang my head is now what feels like an Ojai Boutique Hotel and it was the most fun inclusive process, from picking a teal color for the ceiling to the gorgeous rugs and funky 70's vanity to all the little details that now make me want to actually show off my room! From there we started plotting my kitchen! The design process in their expert hands laid out a plan that utilized my space in such an ingenious way, we didn't need to add square footage, but turned what we had into the most glorious and playful and chef-worthy home. Deb and Rebecca's teamwork and accessibility made it very easy for me to feel I was in the best hands...and it came off without a hitch!”
